5 Most Popular Movies of All Time

Hundreds of Movies are made in the India every year but there are very few movies of the world which have become very popular among the people. Here I am going to tell you the most popular movies of all time.

1) Sholay - Amitabh Bachann, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan: Even today Sholay is very popular though it came 30 years ago. The Dialogues of Sholay became so popular that people of India still speak these everywhere. Its every character became so famous that present Actors of Bollywood still like to get such roles. Gabbar, Jai, Veeru, Thakur, Basanti, Sambha, Kaalia etc. are very popular characters not only in India but in abroad also. Besides these Sholay's direction, its music, choreography, screenplay, music have always been top.

2) Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge - Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Anupak Kher: DDLJ is another mega blockbuster of Indian cinema. Shahrukh Khan's Rivalry with Mr Perfectionist

Shahrukh Khan is a newsmaker, be it the controversies or the spats with fellow actors, friends and even politicians, this Khan loves to be in the news and it seems that our scribes also love to write and capture every bit of his life.

The Aamir Khan-Shahrukh Khan rivalry is still one of the hottest topics to be discussed in the media. Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan in 2009 had created a stir by writing in his blog that his dog named Shahrukh licked his feet. Well, Shahrukh had wanted to give him a fitting reply but was held back by Gauri. Thereafter, in an interview with a leading newspaper he'd said: "Hum log hum umar hai — main, Salman, Aamir. Aur hum jab milte hain toh is se bhi ajeeb batein karte hai. (All three of us — Salman, Aamir and me are the same age and when we meet, we talk stranger stuff than this.) I have to take it with a sense of humour and I do have a sense of humour. If i can do it with others, then I should accept it."

This was not the first time when the actors were involved in a tug-of-war. Aamir had taken a potshot at Shahrukh again when the "Chak De" hero had claimed that he was No. 1 in the industry and declared himself to be the biggest brand other actors want to associate with. "You take the biggest brand in the country that is SRK and then use that platform to publicize yourself. I think Aamir rocks. The problem is that I cannot use another brand because there is no one bigger than me," SRK had said.

Aamir had retorted by saying "I remember him (Shah Rukh) saying that he was joking about calling himself No. 1. I find it very funny as I have never seen anyone proclaiming themselves as No. 1. Not Sachin Tendulkar, not Lata Mangeshkar, not Vishwanathan Anand. I am saying all this in a lighter vein too. But Shah Rukh's sense of humour suddenly disappears when it comes to me."  That same year Aamir's Ghajini had released and it was a huge hit at the Box Office and Aamir was named as the year's most powerful Bollywood personality by Filmfare. Therafter, Aamir had taken a jibe at Shahrukh and said: "I would like to ask Shahrukh, how it feels to be No.2" Shahrukh did not take it lightly and he said that he would speak to Aamir because he didn't say he was number one in arrogance but with a sense of humour and humility.

Karan Johar to Direct 'Student of the Year' With Shahrukh Khan in Main Role

Bollywood top director Karan Johar is all set to direct a film titled 'Student of the Year' with new cast in the lead roles. Senior Director David Dhawan's Son Varun Dhawan and Mahesh Babu's daughter Aliya Bhatt are playing as Hero and Heroine in the film. The second lead will be playing by a newcomer, Siddharth Malhotra. He worked as an assistant director for the film 'My Name is Khan'. The film is jointly producing by Shahrukh Kahn's under his own own banner Red Chillies Entertainment and Karan Johar's own banner Dharma Productions.

Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan is playing in an important role in the film. He will be seen as a College Principal. Earlier, he acted as mentor for three couples in 'Mohabbatein'. The highlight of the movie is that Bollywood best pair Shahrukh Khan and Black Beauty Kajol Devgan are working together after the gap of eight years in Karan Johar's direction.

Earlier, Sharukh Khan and Kajol acted in films like Baazigar, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange, My Name is Khan which turned out to be huge hits at box-office. This is the third film for them to act under Karan Johar's production. In the past, they appeared in films like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hain' and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'.

Earlier, there is a rumour making rounds in the media that this film would be the remake of Blockbuster 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hain'. But director Karan Johan has simply rubbishes the matter and said that the film being made with a new concept.

Shahrukh Khan ones again will be an eye-treat to his fans with his romantic Kuch Kuch Hota or Mohabbatein attitude.

How Shahrukh Khan Got His Six Pack Abs

I have recieved several emails regarding six packs after the release of the song ‘dardedisco’ in which Shahrukh flaunts off a pretty lean body at the age of 40.

Many of the mails I recieved went like: I am doing 50 crunches (or ABS) a day and not seeing any results.

or

What is Shahrukh’s secret?

Now before we move on to getting a six pack, which I will make an entirely different post out of, let me just tell what is a six pack to begin with.

Six Packs are visible on people whose fat% is below 12 (10 for some). Why? Because fat which is around muscles is GONE. VANISHED. VROOM. WHOOSH. What remains is the visibility of the muscle.

I would like the skinny guys reading this to understand that they don’t neccesarily have a low bodyfat %.

*If I have a low bodyfat %, will my six pack show?*

Not neccesarily, I mean if the fat leaves there should also be a bit of muscle to flaunt.

Moving on to the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan.

From SRK Himself, we understand he maintained a very low fat, high protein diet and indulged in a lot of toning workouts and cardio.

As well as took up fat burners before flaunting the abs.

So what is his secret? NONE!

The reason it works for him more easily than it could for us is the wee bit of a difference of budget in millionaire him and us.

I mean come on, eating completely right, working out at extremely proper timings requires free time, equipment-nutrition budget and the comfort to lie down for endless hours once he is done working out.

So is it impossible for us to get a six pack? Definitely not but its much harder too, requires major lifestyle changes, a lot of effort and constant motivation

Who is a Bigger Brand - Shahrukh Khan Or Aamir Khan?

Call them arch rivals or call them good friends, the Shahrukh Khan vs Aamir Khan war has been fought time and over now since the past 14 years. Surprising there has been no clear winner because both SRK and Aamir Khan are hugely popular in Bollywood, with a sea of fan following.

Back in 1994, Shahrukh Khan's movie Ram Jaane released along with Aamir Khan's Akele Hum Akele Tum released on the same day. Believe it or not, both of them bombed. While SRK earned some pittance in the north, Aamir Khan's movie got some revenue in Mumbai and western parts of India. Since then both Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan have been very conscious about the movies they sign or produce. Viewers may note that both are friends but careful not to be subdued by one another. For instance, Rang De Basanti, Aamir Khan's iconic film had Shahrukh Khan initially in the role of R. Madhavan which he had declined. Shahrukh Khan had also asked Aamir Khan to be a part of Om Shanti Om, item number, but Aamir Khan had declined, because he was "busy".

Also Shahrukh Khan's loss has been Aamir Khan's gain and vice versa. Darr was supposed to star Aamir Khan who had doubts about doing a villain's role. The gutsy SRK did it anyway. Similarly Lagaan was offered to Shahrukh Khan who didnt think it would work and Aamir Khan ended up making history out of Lagaan.

Cut to 2007- 2008. Both the Khans, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan size up for the competition in a big manner and pay attention to marketing their films in a sassy manner. Last year in 2007, Shahrukh Khan did his best to promote and market his film Om Shanti Om in the best manner possible, and the efforts paid off. Om Shanti Om became one of the biggest all time hits in Bollywood. Contrast to Aamir Khan who used low key marketing and let the product for itself in the form of his directoral debut Taare Zameen Par. But just as collections picked up, Aamir Khan made sure that Taare Zameen Par was reached out to everyone. He held charity screenings, marketed star kid Darsheel Safary in the best manner possible and did everything to ensure that Taare Zameen Par stayed in public memory for ever. Not surprisingly, considering Taare Zameen Par is one of the best movies of our times.

In 2008; ie now, Shahrukh Khan has gone for low key marketing. He did not market Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi aggressively. He stated that it was not the right time to promote or talk about his film considering the tragic 26/11 scenario. Though there was low key advertising and promotion, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is doing roaring business, proving that Brand Shahrukh is Brand Shahrukh. Well, Aamir Khan who adopted a low key strategy for TZP is now going all ends fired for Ghajini. He built an 8 packs physique an impressive one at that, following SRK's six packs wonder which he build for Om Shanti Om. Aamir Khan has come up with slick promotion tactics for Ghajini, be it print, television or online. He had promoted Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na well, but for Ghajini, he is leaving no stone unturned. Aamir Khan recently asked theatre staff of Big Cinemas and PVR, which are playing Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, to adopt the Ghajini hair cut. It is evident: you are watching Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with the aura of Ghajini around you!

Asked what SRK thought of Aamir Khan's recent strategy for Ghajini, Shahrukh Khan claimed, "I think it is a good strategy. You take the biggest brand in the country that is SRK and then use that platform to publicise yourself. I think Aamir rocks. The problem is that I cannot use any another brand because there is no one bigger than me".

Shahrukh Khan - How He Became King Khan

Shahrukh Khan is perhaps the most loved Indian actor alive. From the most sought after actor to the most influential pop culture icon, the story of king khan is an inspiration to thousands of aspiring actors. Born on 02 November, 1965 in New Delhi to a middle class Muslim Family, Shahrukh never thought he would become one of the most popular men in the world. Both his parents migrated from Pakistan to India during the partition of Indian sub-continent in 1947.

Shahrukh Khan studied at St. Columba's school in New Delhi. He was not particularly good in studies but he was very much involved in extra curricular activities like sports and drama. Shahrukh Khan moved to Mumbai in 1991 to pursue a career in Bollywood. He had already done a few television series in Delhi and though he was not a household name at that time but he wasn't a nobody either. The same year even before sigining up a single movie in Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan married Gauri Chibber. Gauri Chibber belonged to a Hindu Family and neither she nor Shahrukh changed their religions. The wedding was performed as a traditional Hindu wedding.

Before landing in Mumbai, Shahrukh had already done his homework. He learned acting while working with famous theatre director Barry John's Theatre Action Group. After that in 1987 he debuted on television by appearing as commando Abhimanyu in t.v. series Fauji. Later he worked with Aziz Mirza for the tv series Circus. Shahrukh's bollywood debut movie was Deewana released in 1992. It was a box office hit and Shahrukh's career launched with a great success, however his next film Maya Memsaab didn't do that well on the box office. In 1992, Shahrukh Khan appeared in two very similar roles of an anti-hero in two different movies Darr and Bazigar. Darr was produced and directed by Yash Chopra one of the most successful Hindi film directors of all time. Both these movies did great business, not only these movies established Shahrukh Khan as the most popular new actors in Bollywood, they also had huge influence on the popular culture.

Looking at King Khan's career one would notice that Shahrukh worked with some directors more than others. He worked in several movies with Aziz Mirza, Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, etc. He has very good friendship with all these film makers and many claim that these friendships helped Shahrukh a lot in his career. His performances are often compared with fellow actors Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. He has won Padma Shri one of the highest Indian civil awards for his career.

In the past decade Shah rukh Khan diversified his career a lot. He hosted TV show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati", appeared in advertisements, signed brand ambassador deals with world famous brands, produced big budget Bollywood movies, and bought a cricket team Kolkatta Knight Riders. He lives with his wife and two children in his house called "Mannat" which is situated in Bandra and is worth more than USD $27.5 Million.

Sara Ali is a blogger and writes for Desi Galaxy where she occassionally blogs about Bollywood celebrity Shahrukh Khan, and Hindi movie reviews.

Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008)

The wait is over. After eight years Aditya Chopra is back to direct a film with Yash Raj Films production. Who would think that 13 years had passed since the first time this Jodi came together? At that time, the director was merely the scion of a great film making family and the star was best known for taking on negative roles that no one else would. Then the magic they conjured up in their first film together, redefined Hindi cinema and set them on their respective paths to the heights of glory.

After Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om, now, Anushka Sharma is the new Shah Rukh Khan heroine. Aditya Chopra is launching the 19-year-old Bangalore girl for his comeback film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. "We were looking first and foremost for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab and we know we have found her in Anushka," said Yash Chopra. "And while she has no previous acting experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us confident that she will be a standout even opposite Shah Rukh."

After directing his second film, "Mohabbatein", back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India's first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as Dhoom, Dhoom:2, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam Namaste, Fanaa and Chak De India. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra's directorial venture Veer-Zaara in 2004, as well as the stories of other films.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is the third film directed by Aditya Chopra after eight years. His earlier direction was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Mohabbatein (2000) in which Shahrukh Khan was in lead role, and all knows that both were super duper hit films.

"Starting the first day of shooting is what still gives me goose bumps like nothing else," said King Khan. "And to make films with Yash Raj, that too when Adi is directing, is an experience that is more than 100% exciting. Yash Raj Films is, and will always be, home for me and who doesn't love coming home? Yashji and Adi have always given me roles that have gotten me love and appreciation from fans all over the world. And this time Adi has again written a character for me to play that I think will become as beloved as Raj of DDLJ was. I am going to be trying as usual to hit it out of the park with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi."

The first official poster of movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is given in the following site in which Shah Rukh is looking quite different. The movie poster and the tagline of the film "There is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi" is making the film more mysterious one.

Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan's Power Ramp Walk for Karan Johar

At HDIL Couture week 2010

Two is a company and three's crowd! Not exactly, when threesome are Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan that too setting the ramp on fire.

Getting showstoppers from Bollywood is not that tough, it's just the matter of time which assures that they are free from their hectic shooting schedules. But at HDIL Couture week 2010, the king of casting coup pulled a memorable show for his designer brand. Karan Johar and Varun Bahl new line of splendid clothes for men was no less dramatic than a film.

Amitabh dressed in black from top to bottom walked the ramp like a king while Hrithik's charismatic looks teamed with attire reminiscent of mighty knights and the lords of bygone era left the onlookers spellbound. Yes the collection was inspired by the Victorian era and had formal wears like suits, shirts, overcoats and also men's accessories.

However the finale by Shahrukh and the jig on the ramp was just what everyone wanted to see - Bollywood at its best. Dancing to the tune of "Shava Shava" and "Ek Pal Ka Jeena", the show was a thrilling experience for all who were seated there.

Karan knows how to attract his audiences through his films, and one can't question his designing credibility. This man can not only write reams and reams on romance, he is creative too about the cuts as well as the silhouette.

For the last year show, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were on ramp. Apart from the showstoppers, the show has many guests from the industry frat, SRK's wife Gauri Khan was present there along with the bubbly Preity Zinta, sisters Karisma and Kareena Kapoor were in attendance, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor with daughter Sonam, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik's wife Sussanne, Urmila Matondkar, Raveena Tandon, Rahul Khanna, Dino Morea all were there cheering for their favourite director as well as the designer.

Shahrukh Khan and His Forthcoming Film "My Name is Khan"

Shahrukh Khan, popularly known as "King Khan" is one of the top 50 personalities of the world as per Newsweek. The son of a freedom fighter, he is a great actor, producer, television host and a lover of sports. He is in news for the release of his forthcoming film "My name is Khan" which is slated to be released on 12th February 2010. Some astrological observation on the basis of his horoscope can be made keeping in view the recent controversies relating to his film.

Shahrukh was born on 2nd November 1965 when Leo lagna (ascendant) was rising. As per "Vimshottari dasa" Shahrukh Khan is running the dasa of Saturn / Saturn till 9th March 2011. Saturn is retrograde and is placed in the 7th house of his horoscope. In "Vedic astrology", 7th house is the house of public reputation, partnerships, associates and spouse. It is likely that these areas can be a matter of concern for Shahrukh in the days to come.

On deeper analysis we see that currently he is running the pratyantar dasa of Saturn / Saturn / Moon which started from 29th November 2009 and will end on 1st March 2010. Moon happens to be the lord of the 12th house placed in the 6th house. This placement is forming "vipreet rajya yoga" indicating that there may be controversies and issues with the start of this dasa. However, being involved in "rajya yoga", this may be a time for professional betterment. "My name is Khan" is releasing on 12th February 2010 when this dasa will be operational. Hence, the film should do well. Moon being placed in the 6th house, this film can also cause enmity or controversies.

Cross-checking the horoscope from Jaimini system, Shahrukh is currently running the dasa of Capricorn / Leo till 2nd June 2010. "Amatyakaraka" Moon, according to Jaimini system, aspects Leo "rashi" (sign) indicating professional success.

As per "Varshparvesh" horoscope Shahrukh Khan will be running the "Mudda dasa" of Rahu placed in the 3rd house from 13th January 2010 to 8th March 2010. Rahu is considered to be well-placed in the 3rd house indicating that the current time can give success to Shahrukh and his film "My name is Khan"

As per "Jaimini astrology" the dasa to follow is of Capricorn / Cancer which starts from 2nd June 2010 and will continue up to 2nd May 2011. Both, "Atmakaraka" Mars and "Gnatikaraka" Mercury aspects Cancer rashi indicating that there can be health and family concerns from June 2010 onwards. Shahrukh is advised to take care of his health and personal safety from June 2010 onwards.

In the Name of Forty-Six: A Closed Letter to All Shahrukh Fans

Shahrukh! OMG! You can not contain him in words. Those eyes of love, solitude, longing, want, fear, hatred, and jealousy; that face of thousand honest expressions, as if possessed, conveys what exactly he wants to; that intensity of moves, which would make any tune sound good; that baritone of his voice, which would fumble, pause, and rise in exact sync with his majestic face; the fluffy mane of his past, which you would otherwise mock, but as noble, pure, and honest as his smile. You cannot describe the Colosseum to someone who is blind, you cannot describe an orgasm to someone who is a virgin, and you cannot describe Shahrukh to someone who does not belong to Shahrukhism. Shahrukh is not just a cinema; it is much more than that. Like Sachin is not just a cricketer and Beatles is not just a band. There come may better actors, but no one will ever replicate Shahrukh. Like no one will ever replicate Sachin and Beatles. He can die with his legs up in the air and it will look good. He can romance a cow on screen and it will look good. He can be beaten down to ground and it will look good. He can wear most atrocious clothes, and do most atrocious acts, but with his touch of an alchemist, everything which is him will be gold. He can be a loser and a failure, and you'll love him.

You don't need to write good roles for him, you don't need to write good dialogues for him, you don't need to design good clothes for him, you don't need to create good songs for him; at the end of the day, it will be Shahrukh who'll be enacting them, it will be Shahrukh who'll be speaking those lines, it will be Shahrukh who'll be wearing those clothes, and it will be Shahrukh who'll be dancing to them. He'll be the cynosure of everything, in perfect control of anything around him. It is easy to be a good actor. It really is. But it is impossible to be a Shahrukh. Try replacing anyone in any single shot of Shahrukh and you'll know what I am talking about (Heck! You cannot chase the baddies on a rickshaw or haggle to buy a watermelon for the lead-lady and still manage to look that cool!). Shahrukh can pull off anything and make it real; make it believable. Sharukh always strikes the right chords. When you see him, you own him; you think he's all yours; he's someone you would want your father to be like, he's someone you would want your brother to be like and he's someone you would want your son to be like. Shahrukh is believable. Shahrukh is cool. Portraying the fallacies and weakness of a common man can only be Shahrukh's forte. And he's magical in that.

Shahrukh off screen is an equal delight. While the rest from his fraternity can carry off nothing more than a chuckle or giggle while looking dumb and annoying, Shahrukh knows, each and every time, what he's talking about. Super-intelligent will be an understatement. He has wits which are genuine, and he has words which make others look illiterate. His brain and reactions work at the speed of light, and still all he'll say will be meaningful and will have a right combination of philosophy, humor and sarcasm. He has what all his peers lack: a presence of mind. He's the true off-screen show-man. You may hate his performances, but you'll be overdoing if you hate him as a person.

Shahrukh is not perfect, and I would have not liked him had he been one. His imperfections are his charm, like the vulnerability of Sachin in his nineties. It adds to his awe. It's like wondering for an instance how beautiful Michelangelo's Pieta would've been without those broken pieces, and then thinking that the broken pieces actually add to the beauty of the sculpture. Shahrukh never gave his best; he always gasps you in want of more. I doubt he would be excited to give his all even in his swansong performance. Shahrukh is not about details, you've to appreciate the whole panorama. He's a painting which you cannot absorb in a single view. You want to see it again and again.

An actor should be judged solely on the basic of his silver-screen performances. Not on the basis of awards, recognitions, fan-followings, and box office. His personal life and his background should be nobody's business. But if you still want to use such parameters for Shahrukh, do your own mathematics.

Shahrukh's success is a success of a common man. And it is the only reason you may hate him. It is a success which all of us dreamt of, but hardly achieved. Yes, people wonder how a mediocre looking guy coming from nowhere can storm the whole world. WHOLE WORLD! This observation fuels jealousy and hatred. You wonder what he has in him that took him that high. It makes you feel restless. Shahrukh is a winner any day. He's not an underdog. People love when underdogs perform. And unfortunately, all his underdog companions have been surprisingly incompetent and that again is Shahrukh's fault. When his peers succeed ephemerally, they are hailed and no one remembers their bulk serial failures of the past. Shahrukh's success is taken for granted, but his failures are archived and more intensely mocked. Even in his success, dots of failures will be searched. When his peers promote their projects by giving haircuts to public and traveling in rickshaws across the nation dressed as jokers, they are lauded and termed innovative; when Shahrukh outscore them, it is just shameless marketing. When movies with no story succeed and shirts tear off by it selves, they're cult-classics; but each of Shahrukh's movies is sharply analyzed on the balance of logic. A sixty-year bald actor with his clownish acts is a demi-god on screen, but they never fail to count the forehead creases of Shahrukh who unlike his peers, thanks to his injuries, cannot take help of Botox to look young.

They have tried everything possible to match his success. Some have tried to pretend 'different' and act as the 'art-house' of Hindi-Cinema (it no doubt works, for people too need to fake their elitism by pretending to like such 'art'). Others are desperately finding solace in remaking southern hits shot-to-shot. May they all succeed. They need all such tactics for they all are mechanical and expressionless. They all are insecure and it is perceivable how difficult it must be for them to hold their ground. But it was Shahrukh who first changed the laws of cinema well back when he started. He made the audience believe that heroes can be bad, heroes can cry, and heroes need not flex their muscles all the time. No matter what others say, Shahrukh changed all the conventions, truly as the first iconoclast of Hindi cinema. Shahrukh is the benchmark of everything. All accomplishments in Hindi-cinema are and will always be compared to that of Shahrukh! Does one need to say anything more?

Shahrukh is termed shallow because he wants to have all the money in this world. He unfortunately does not accept the morals we impose on him. But thank god he's not pretentious. Thank god he does not sit for Medha Patkar's causes without actually understanding what they are about (only to run away later when they vandalize and halt your movie screenings). Thank god he does not second Anna's campaign just for the heck of him. We did not see him when the Olympic torch arrived in the country. He does not belong to there. But he's always at places where he belongs to, and he challenged the so called tiger in his "own den" while reiterating his statement backing Paki cricketers. Shahrukh is shallow because he does not care what people think of him. He works day and night so that he can have enough money when he's old and feeble. He's an artist who now seeks commerce over estheticism, who now prefers glamour and indulgence over abstinence. He's the Indian god for hedonism. We all the hedonists but hate him for the very same reason. Because he's excelling at it.

Millions of people across the globe cannot go wrong. Respect their judgments. And no one can argue that his name has transcended the barriers of nations, languages, and religion like no one else. It is, it is difficult and beyond the imagination of most of us, the fan-following he enjoys overseas. He's unarguably, the most recognized Indian man alive in the world. The world knows just his face. But even if he hadn't achieved all of this, he would have been this charismatic.

To me, cinema is nothing but Shahrukh. I've cried and laughed with him every time. I wanted to scream my lungs out when I was next to Mannat. I, unfortunately, don't understand any other actors. I've tried, really, again and again but failed. But I am sure they all are good. But I just don't get them. And it's okay if you don't get Shahrukh. Yes, each of you has your own taste of cinema. You may hate him to your core. You may make fun of everything which is him. You may think he's ugly and not a hero in Hindi-cinema sense. I would understand all of that, but still pity that you would never experience the array of emotions we, the followers of Shahrukhism, experience every time we see him. Shahrukhism is not an elite cult, but still pity that you don't belong to it. And more pity that you cannot convert to Shahrukhism for if you are not into it, you cannot be into it. And those who belong to it will know what I am talking about. For the rest, this post will mean no more than, a maudlin paean, a drama, a joke? To rest, all in the name of Shahrukh Khan, he has promised to entertain us as long as he lives. The milestone may say forty-six, but picture abhi baki hai mere dost... (The show is yet to finish...)

Who Is More Popular Shahrukh Khan Or Manmohan Singh?

Shahrukh Khan is the actor number one in Hindi film. Manmohan Singh is the Prime Minister of India. Since they are from different fields, it is not proper to compare them. Sharukh Khan and Manmohan Singh are the super stars in their own fields, which are entirely different. Manmohan Singh is more known for his good deeds than Shahrukh Khan.

The Man of Action - Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan has fans all over the world, both Indians and foreigners. They have something in common; most of them are movie goers. The Macho image he imparted in many films has earned him fans from all realms. Film world is more colorful, imaginative, and full of acting. It is impossible to say where the line of acting ends and the real Khan comes out. Shahrukh Khan has not earned his popularity just by his good nature, but by the myriad characters he portrayed in a variety of films.

The Man of Mettle - Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister of India, when almost all Indians stood up against Sonia Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister on account of her Italian birth. But, since assuming the office, he took many decisions with the approval of the parliament and also sometimes against all oppositions. When he was sure of something, he stood his ground and thus showed his mettle, as in the case of '123 Agreement'.

Foolishness or Coincidence

To compare, a man, who became famous through the characters he played in films, and a man, who gained popularity through his good deeds he did for his country and his fellow men, is absurd. April 01 is fool's day. May be it is a coincidence that such a question arose in the month of April.

All Eyes on Ra One and Shahrukh

Believed to be the most expensive film ever to be made in India, Ra.One is one of the most eagerly awaited releases of 2011. This science fiction film is probably the most ambitious of all of Shah Rukh Khan's projects and is produced by his production house Red Chilies. The film, which features Shahrukh with Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal alongside, is directed by Anubav Sinha. Sharukh portrays G.One, a superhero, for the first time in his career. So as to compete with international standards, a variety of add-ons are given to the film.

At a recent function, Shah Rukh Khan's new look as the superhero was revealed. Adorned with visual graphics, the banner looked stunning. Sources say Shah Rukh's G.One costume, a blue suit with rubber silver, costs approximately US $1 million and has been made especially to handle the dangerous stunts in the film. Mr. Khan remarked that the suit cannot be worn at parties but the t-shirts will soon be available in the markets. Mr. Khan's pose in the first look of the film bore a strong resemblance to the one in the song Dard-E-Disco from the film Om Shanti Om.

The plot of Ra. One revolves around a computer professional based in Miami who is addicted to computer games. SRK plays the computer professional and he creates Ra.One and G.One, two people with superhuman powers. G.One (Shah Rukh Khan) is the hero while Ra.One (Arjun Rampal) is the villain in the story. Kareena has, once again been paired with Mr. Khan after a long time. Arjun Rampal has stated that the chemistry between him and Mr. Khan in the film is going to be interesting.

A team from Hollywood has handled the special effects of the film. Mr. Rampal also said recently that physically the role was very demanding. He had to undergo over three months of intense training. The film boasts of a number of international stars in it, like David Benullo from Hollywood, who has written the script, and Akon, who has recorded one of the songs for the film. He was felicitated at Mumbai for the recording of the song, composed by Vishal and Shekhar. Besides, the set of the film was given a visit by Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president.

Ever since the first look of the film has been released, it has been surrounded by a lot of pre release hype. Comparisons have also been made with the Rajnikanth starrer Robot, which was a huge success the previous year. The film was initially slated for a mid-2011 release but has now been changed to a Diwali release.

Ajay and Kajol Opposite Attack

The real life couple has taken separate routes when it comes to reel life. By now, we all know that the SRK and Kajol Starrer colossal project My Name Is Khan is releasing on the 12th of February. The movie is all over the news as the marketing and the promotion for the movie is rampant. But, hubby Ajay Devgn is not keeping quiet as his Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge is hitting the screens on the 26th of February.

Shahrukh Khan and Kajol go back along way as they can be called arguably Bollywood's most loved onscreen pair. They together have worked in path breaking movies like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. And mind you, for each of these movies Kajol bagged three Filmfare awards in the Best Actress category. Kajol's acting in all these movies was appealing and well appreciated and acclaimed by the masses. History has it, that Kajol is regarded as one of India's most successful and talented actresses, Bollywood has ever come across.

Talking about hubby Ajay Devgn, though his last film London Dreams didn't do wonders for him at the box office, but we all are very well acquainted with the abilities and the mass talent Ajay Devgn possess. Ajay Devgn at one point of time was remarked as the underrated actor in Bollywood. This national award winning actor has essayed numerous roles and has done justice with the character roles he has played. His forthcoming Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge looks fresh and ready to roll. Ajay is cast opposite yet another national award winning actress Konkona Sen Sharma in Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge. The movie falls under comedy genre akin to his last film All The Best which was a HIT. The movie aint just any other movie as the Warner Bros. Pictures India and Wide Frame Films join hands for this film. It's a great feat and honor to have such kind of international tie up and collaboration as My Name Is Khan the movie will be distributed by FOX star Entertainnment.

My Name Is Khan is just round the corner as it will hit the theaters on the 12th of Feb and couple of weeks later will see the rise of Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge? We can see at one end Kajol is wandering places along with SRK promoting her movie and at other end her hubby Ajay Devgn is busy promoting his movie along with Konkona Sen Sharma. The last time we saw Kajol in the big picture was when she paired opposite Ajay Devgn in U Me Aur Hum. The movie faired well in the Box Office and one more time Kajol was nominated in the Filmfare's Best Actress Award category that year.

The real life couple will be seen again later this year in a live-action 3D film titled Toonpur Ka Superhero. Directed by Kireet Khurana, the film marks Eros' second production with the husband-wife duo after YOU, ME AND HUM.

Bollywood Movie Releases of 2009, Hindi Films of 2009

Here is the list of Bollywood movies releasing in 2009. Akshay Kumar has quite a good line up of films in 2009 while Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan have a film each, apart from their special appearances in three films. Among the actresses, the three Ks-Kangana Ranaut, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif look set to have a good year.
* Victory: Victory starring Harman Baweja, is one of the most expensive movies of 2009. The story is about a boy from a small time village in Rajasthan who fulfills his father's long cherished dream of being an acclaimed cricketer at the national level. There are cameo appearances by many international cricketers as well. Anupam Kher and Amrita Rao costar in Victory.
* Acid Factory: Acid Factory, a Sanjay Gupta film has an elaborate start cast of Dia Mirza, Irrfan Khan, Fardeen Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Aftab Shivdasani and Danny Denzongpa. Acid Factory is about a group of people, whose sense of past has been erased from their memory. It is a high octane thriller, making the bad and evil relish-able. Dia Mirza plays a bad woman for the first time. The music of Acid Factory has been give by many music directors, including Sandeep Chowta, Anand Raj Anand, Mika Singh. The director of Acid Factory is Suparn Verma.
* Raaz-The Mystery Continues: Director Mohit Suri attempts to show in this sequel to Raaz, that no one is good or bad totally; every one has their own demons to fight. Raaz-The Mystery Continues is a story of three people. Emraan Hashmi an artist, visualizes and prophecies the brutal death of Kangana Ranaut. Kangana's beau (reel and real life) Adhyayan is determined to save her at any cost. The movie under Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films releases on January 23, 2009.
* Chandni Chowk to China: Director Nikhil Advani is back with a prized Akshay Kumar starrer-Chandni Chowk to China. The story is such that Akshay Kumar works at a roadside foodstall in Chandni Chowk, cutting vegetables and dreaming of a better life. He consults astrologers, tarot readers and the lot, believing in everything but himself. His redeeming moment comes when two strangers from China claim that he(Akshay) is a reincarnation of a war hero and takes him to China. Akshay moves along with Ranvir Shourey in a bid to realize his brave past. Along the way he meets Deepika Padukone and they set off in a series of adventures.
* Billu Barber: If Aamir Khan adapted a movie Ghajini from the south last year, Shahrukh Khan does a similar thing this. Billu Barber produced by Shahrukh Khan is loosely based on the friendship between Kishen and Sudama and also borrows from the Malayalam superhit Kuselan. Shahrukh Khan plays himself in the movie(call it an extended special appearance) while Irrfan Khan, who is the protagonist plays a small town barber. Whatever the fate of the film, one thing is for sure: you will blown away by the performances of two of the best actors of Bollywood.
* Delhi 6: The best director of 2006 Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra produces and directs this film. It is an autobiographic take on his growing days in Delhi. The film should be the trump card for actress Sonam Kapoor. It also stars Abhishek Bachchan. There is a huge expectation from the director who started a revolution with Rang De Basanti.
* Delhi Belly: Imran Khan who had played two distinct roles in hit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and flop Kidnap, comes back in a frothy comedy, to be made by the best producer in Bollywood, yep you guessed it right, Aamir Khan. There is buzz that Delhi Belly is an adult comedy with 'strong language' and sexual innuendos. The movie Delhi Belly is being marketed as an adult copy, appealing to a niche audience and international market. The film is directed by Abhinav Deo.
* New York: Kabir Khan who surprised us pleasantly with "Kabul Express" comes back in 2009 with a taut thriller called 'New York' . New York stares Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham who has stripped himself to the buff(rejoice girls!) for a particular sequence of the film. New York is a contemporary story of three friends whose lives are scarred events beyond their control.
* Luck by Chance: The man of multiple talents Farhan Akhtar stars in what could be one of the finest Bollywood movie release to 2009.The star studded release include Hrithik Roshan, Rishi Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Dimple Kapadia, Isha Sherwani, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Kapoor. Luck By Chance is a take on the aspiring actor with stars in his eyes, who wants to get a foothold in the Bollywood industry. It is a movie about how much of an impact does luck play in Bollywood.
* 8 x 10: This will be Akshay Kumar's first 'non-filmi' movie if one can use this term. In a relatively low budget film directed by the ever dependable Nagesh Kukoonoor and produced by Percept, it will portray Akshay Kumar as a man who can look into the past of dead people by touching objects that belonged to them. Inspired lightly by 'Sixth Sense,' this film is a must watch.
* Alibaug; Directed by Sanjay Gupta, it has a bevy of actors: Sunjay Dutt, Sanjay Suri, Diya Mirza, ROhit Roy and Maushmi Makhija. The story deals with nine youths who have just graduated from college and are looking at the real world that awaits them.
* Alladin : Alladin is an interpretation of Arabian Nights. It stars Riteish Deshmukh as Alladin and Amitabh Bachan as the genie. Expect a lot of special effects in this funny tale. Sanjay Dutt also stars in the film as a villain called Ringmaster, directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
* Ajab Prem ki Ghajab Kahani: Raj Kumar Santoshi, one of the prolific directors of Bollywood, attempts to bring the magic of Andaaz Apna Apna once again with a comic caper cum love story, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The movie has a simple story of Ranbir Kapoor who moves around in his life, aimlessly. He keeps on fooling around till he meets Katrina Kaif and falls in love with her. After that the fun and madness begins.
* * Aashayein: Aashayein directed by Nagesh Kukunoor stars Ayesha Takia and John Abraham. John Abraham plays a compulsive gambler suddenly discovers that he is a victim of terminal illness, and that he has only 90 days to live. He is admitted to a hospital where he discover love, companionship and the beautiful meaning of life.
* Kambhakkt Ishq: One of the most talked about movies, Kambhaqt Ishq has beeen in news since 2008. Kambakth Ishq has cameo roles from major Hollywood stars including Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. Akshay Kumar who plays stuntman, will be back in his action avatar, doing dare devil stunts. The movie also stars Aftab Shivdasani, Amrita Arora and is directed by debutant Sabir Khan. Kambakth Ishq is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
* London Dreams: London Dreams, one of the most expensive movies of 2009 stars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin. London Dreams is a story about two pop stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan who fall in love with a South Indian girl, Asin.
* Rensil D' Silva's next: Rensil D'Silva who was Rang De Basanti's screenplay writer become director with this film. It is a thriller with global terrorism in the background. The movie stars Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor. Karan Johar is the producer.
* Hissss: Hissss is synoymous with Mallika Sherwat. Hollywood collaborates with Bollywood to produce Hissss. Mallika plays a snake who is on the way to seek vengeance. An American visitor steps into the jungles of India and kills the female snake's mate which makes her seek revenge. Expect a lot of special effects in this flick. Apparently Mallika Sherwat who is dressed in a painfully heavy snake costume(she couldnt even go to the loo for 10 hours flat while shooting for this film) has no dialogue to mouth in the film.
* De Dhana Dhan: Priyadarshan is back with his style of comedy with De Dana Dhan. The movie stars the current hot onscreen pair-Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar. Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal also star in the film, hopefully to recreate the Hera-Pheri magic, 9 years ago. De Dana Dhan is a story of two broke guys who are in search of big money, to prove a point to their girlfriends. The movie also stars Sameera Reddy and Neha Dhupia.
* What's Your Rashee: Director Ashutosh Gowariker tries a love story with What's Your Rashee? starring lovers Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja. The movie is an adaptation of a Gujarati novel by Shri Madhu called Kimbali Ravenswood. The romantic movie is a story about how Harman Baweja has just ten days to win over the love of his life, Priyanka Chopra.
* Kaminay: One of the most prolific directors, Vishal Bharadwaj comes back with a bang in Kaminay, starring Shahid Kapur, Priyanka Chopra and Amol Gupte(the creative director of Taare Zameen Par). Easily one of the awaited films of 2009, you will see Shahid Kapur in a double role here. The look of Shahid is going to be totally different for Kaminay and it is reportedly kept under the wraps. The movie is supposed to be a comedy with a difference.
* Imtiaz Ali's next film: Imtiaz Ali, who had given the saccharine sweet Jab We Met, two years ago, comes up with a romantic intense tale, which stars Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. Though the story is kept under wraps, it will be a true-blue love story of 2009.
* Wake Up Sid: Call it unconventional romantic pairing, but we have Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor starring in Wake Up Sid, directed by debutant Ayaan Mukherjee. It is a Karan Johar production. Will be interesting to see how people from two different genres, Konkona and Ranbir do with this one.
* It's My Life: The sweetheart of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na(2008) pairs up with Harman Baweja in the movie Its My Life. The movie is directed by the director with the superhit track record, Anees Bazmee.
* Wanted-Dead or Alive: Starring the muscular Salman Khan and the voluptuous Ayesha Takia, Wanted-Dead or Alive should be the first big hit of the most under rated performer of Bollywood, Ms. Takia. Prabhudeva's first Bollywood directorial venture is a remake of his Tamil-Telugu blockbuster Pokiri. The pairing of the two beautiful actors is wonderful and the chemistry is going to sizzle the screen.
* Blue: Blue, one of the most expensive film of Bollywood ever(budget more than Rs.100 crores), has Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan in lead roles. The action film is shot in Bahamas and is written by American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan. The movie has a lot of underwater scenes and dare devil stunts by Akshay Kumar. A.R.Rahman has given music for the film. Australian singer Kylie Minogue has been reportedly paid 1.5 million dollars to sing for Rahman, Antony D'Souza is to direct the film.
